SA’s biggest annual IT service management summit, SMEXA, will focus on the threats and opportunities presented to an IT industry in crisis this year.
The event, presented by the IT service management umbrella body, the IT Service Management Forum of South Africa (itSMFsa), in partnership with ITWeb, is the local IT service management sector’s premier annual gathering. This year, the two-day conference and expo will be staged at The Forum, in Bryanston, on 20 and 21 September.
Amid disruptive technologies such as cloud computing and mobility, as well as the ongoing need for IT departments to deliver more for less, local IT departments may find themselves going into crisis mode.
The itSMFsa notes that times of pressure and change present both threats and opportunities. The SMEXA 2011 planning committee, comprising industry experts and leading members of the itSMFsa, has therefore decided to focus this year’s conference on risks and opportunities in a time of change.
Among the topics to come under discussion are governance, cloud computing, cost optimisation, and demand management. Top local and international speakers will address the audience on the world’s major IT service management trends and how to cope with the sudden wave of disruptive technologies and new demands.
